Natural Glucose Absorption Control contains a blend of Phase 3™ Sucrase Inhibitor L-arabinose and Chromium GlycoProtein Matrix, and InSea2™ (brown seaweeds).
Sucrase is an enzyme that breaks down sucrose in the digestive tract for absorption into the bloodstream. Phase 3™ contains a substance found in plants called L-arabinose that functions through its effects on sucrase digestion and works synergistically with chromium to support healthy insulin and blood sugar levels. L-arabinose targets the sucrase enzyme, helping to delay the rapid rise in blood sugar associated with sucrose consumption1,2. Chromium is a critical micronutrient now widely recognized to play a vital role in maintaining healthy blood sugar levels in those within normal levels when used as part of a healthy diet.
The patented seaweed extract (InSea2™) has demonstrated effects upon both alpha-glucosidase and alpha-amylase. Alpha-glucosidase enables carbohydrate absorption by helping to break down simple carbohydrates into glucose. Alpha-amylase is an enzyme that helps with the breakdown of large carbohydrate molecules like starch into glucose polymers (linked chains of glucose molecules). These simple sugars are then broken down to glucose by the alpha-glucosidase enzyme.
When given to laboratory animals, this seaweed extract reduced after-meal (postprandial) fluctuations in blood sugar by up to 90% compared with non-supplemented animals. Equally impressive were insulin reductions as much as 40% in the animals supplemented with InSea2™.3
InSea2™ contains the trace element iodine. Iodine is involved in the production of the thyroid hormones triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4). T3 and T4 are primarily responsible for regulating metabolism. The thyroid gland actively absorbs iodine from the blood to make and release these hormones.
