The EQ-10 Countertop water filter is designed to provide healthful good tasting water at your kitchen sink. Simply attach the dual-channel hose to your existing kitchen sink faucet and presto - 5,000 gallons of filtered water at your finger tips for less than 2ó a gallon. Components are constructed out of FDA compliant materials and made of 100% recyclable ABS food-grade plastic assembled by ultrasonic welding to eliminate the use of glues and solvents. No additional parts are needed. How Does It Work? The unit is designed for a useful life of 3-4 years or 5,000 gallon life, whichever occurs first. The saturation of the media may occur faster in different areas depending upon the condition of the water. Generally, it is recommended that the unit be replaced when there is a noticeable drop in water pressure and/or off-tastes or odors. The EQ-10 has a patented 3-stage filtration process (click on the detailed image on the left to view.) Stage 1 Centaur - a revolutionary patented media that is designed to reduce chloramines and that rotten egg smell (hydrogen sulfide) through catalytic reaction. Stage 2 ATS« - patented ceramic-sorbent impregnated coconut shell media that reduces heavy metals, such as Lead and Mercury, through cation exchange. Stage 3 High Grade Activated Coconut Shell Carbon - a 20x50 mesh carbon based media designed to reduce small molecular weight chemical contaminants. This unique media has an enhanced micro-pore structure that adsorbs twice the amount of contaminants as other carbons. Housing elements are ultrasonically bonded to eliminate the use of adhesives, solvents, or seals. This process is healthier, safer and better for the environment. UL and WQA Certified to NSF/ANSI Standards Includes two adapters designed to fit any kitchen faucet. Maximum flow rate: 0.75 gpm (2.8 L/min) Operating pressure range: 20-100 psi (1.4-6.9 bar) Dimensions: 5.5 inches x 12 inches Capacity: 5,000 gallon capacity (3-4 Years) Ships Separately
